Budapest, (November 14th, 2018) – Mars has been named as one the best employers in the country during Aon’s Best Employers award ceremony on the 13th of November. The award compliments on the company’s efforts to provide a unique and outstanding work experience and developments for its employees.

After being recognised as one of the Best Workplaces in Europe for the third year in a row by Great Place to Work® 2018, Mars has received the recognition from Aon’s Best Employers programme as well, naming the company as one of the best employers in Hungary in the category of “Hungarian winners of international surveys”. The award is entirely based on an employee survey, and it recognises those employer organisations, without setting up an order, that have created great work environments marked by: effective leadership, high performance orientation, a compelling employer brand and high employee engagement. Best Employers, which is handed for the second time to Mars in Hungary, celebrates the family culture and the unique work environment of the company, and is a proof of the company’s commitment to its employees – called Associates at Mars.

“This award is an amazing achievement and a great honor, as it shows how we all feel about working here. Every day, we put great efforts in the wellbeing of our people, and I’m proud to see that our commitment to our Associates is reflected in this award.” – said Attila Sófalvi, Market Director of Mars Hungary.

Mars offers a unique working environment for its Associates. Mars offices are open, collaborative and fun. The company promotes diversity among its Associates and has an outstanding rate of women Associates in the leadership team. The company also helps its Associates by development programs and by helping them to have work-life balance.

„We have a unique corporate culture in Mars. We rely on one another. Inspire one another. Learn from one another. Succeed with one another. And really, that results in an incredibly fulfilling work environment. There’s something amazing about knowing that everyone around you is supporting your success. And I believe that it is this unique culture which we have built here, which helped us to win this award.” - said Ewa Pachocka, HR Director of Mars Multisales CE.

Mars, which has celebrated its 25th anniversary on the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian markets last year, rewards the loyalty of its associates, by expanding and fulfilling each associate’s career potential, by providing them the opportunity to potentially gain experiences in different segments, markets and positions.

Associates are also encouraged to take part in Mars Volunteering Program activities, such as events that show children in SOS villages the importance of oral care or helping adoption of pets by donating to shelters every year. Mars offices are also pet-friendly, allowing Associates to benefit of this positive experience that reduces stress.

For over 100 years, Mars has remained to be family owned business, with strong values and principles. The unique corporate culture of the company is based on Five principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom, which serve as actual guidelines for the daily decisions and choices of Associates on all levels. Every Associate is encouraged to run the business as if it was their own and is invited to provide regular feedback on how the daily work of the company could contribute to different missions of the company’s segments.
